Taxes for foreign employees will be increased
Employers will pay taxes at a higher rate for foreign workers.
The Russian State Duma is considering a bill that proposes to increase tax rates for employers to hire foreign employees.
This change will affect employers whose staff includes more than 30% of foreign employees. The increased tax rates will not apply to highly qualified specialists (HQS)
According to the bill, organizations using a common and simplified tax system will have their tax rates increased in the following classifications:
- Corporate income tax;
- Personal income tax;
- A single agricultural tax;
- Tax on imputed income for certain activities.
So, in the event the bill is adopted, corporate income tax can be increased from 20 to 30%, and from 13% to 18.5% on personal income tax individuals who are engaged in entrepreneurial activity as an unincorporated entity.
