December 31st, 2015 is the deadline for filing notification of having dual citizenship or other documents granting the right of permanent residence abroad. Failure to notify FMS about dual citizenship  is subject to  administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to two hundred thousand rubles or the salary or other income for a period of up to the one year or by mandatory labor  for a term of up to four hundred hours. Citizens of the Russian Federation who have received the citizenship from another country after this date will need to notify the Federal Migration Service within two months.

Residents of Crimea and Sevastopol are not required to inform the authorities of the Federal Migration Service about the presence of their Ukrainian citizenship if it was obtained after the accession of these regions into the Russian Federation.
