Regarding an obligation of employer to pay the worker`s travel expenses from vacation spot to work location
The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation prepared explanations concerning the question of an employer’s obligation to pay an employee’s travel costs from vacation spot to work location in the event of an unforeseen occurrence while on holiday.
So, according to Article 125 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, an employee’s withdrawing for vacation is undertaken only with the employee’s consent.
At the same time, as explained the Ministry of Finance, by neither the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, nor other legal acts, it is not established any regulations obliging the employer to compensate the employee’s travel costs from vacation spot to work location.
