Regarding increasing the minimum monthly wage to a minimum subsistence level

The draft law prepared by the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation and approved by the Tripartite Commission on Regulation of Social and Labor Relations proposed to set the minimum monthly wage at 12,130 rubles starting on January 1, 2020, which is 100% of the minimum subsistence level of the able-bodied population in the Russian Federation as a whole for the second quarter of 2019.

The draft law also provides for the clarification of Article 133 of the Russian Labour Code in the following wording: "The minimum wage is set simultaneously throughout the territory of the Russian Federation by federal law and cannot be lower than the minimum subsistence level of the able-bodied population.
