New requirements have been approved regarding the validity of passports of foreign citizens

By the order of the Federal Migration Service of Russia "On approval of the Administrative Regulations for the Federal Migration Service on providing state services for issuing permits for foreign employees and work permits for foreign citizens and stateless persons" a number of requirements have been established regarding the validity of passports of foreign citizens applying for a work permit.

Thus, administrative regulation stipulates that a foreign citizen's passport must be valid for at least 1 year from the date of application for a work permit.

Validity of the passport of a foreign citizen, who has been recruited to work as HQS or sent to work in a foreign commercial organization in the Russian Federation, should be valid at least for 3 years from the date of application for a work permit.

In the event of non-compliance with these requirements, FMS of Russia will not accept documents for the registration of a work permit.
