New electronic invitations for visas for foreign citizens

According to the Federal Migration Service (FMS)Russian citizens will now be able to issue invitations to enter Russia for foreign citizens in electronic form.
After the submission of documents for registration of the invitation to the Federal Migration Service, the applicant will receive an e-mail with electronic version of the invitation, which can be submitted by the foreign citizen to the Russian Embassy in his or her country in order to obtain entry a visa to the Russian Federation.
Earlier, after the submission of documents for registration of the invitation to the Federal Migration Service, it was obligatory to personally contact an office of the FMS to receive an invitation.
