Foreign employees will be freed from taking an exam in Russian language
25.05.2015
The Federal Migration Service has received a proposal from Business Ombudsman Boris Titov, according to which foreign citizens are to be exempt from taking the exam on the Russian language, Russian history and the basics of Russian legislation, if these foreign citizens are employed in Russia for no longer than 12 months. At the moment, the proposal is being considered by the FMS.
We remind you that in April 2014 the Russian President signed the Federal Law "On Amendments to the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation"
According to this law, a foreign citizen applying for a patent and for a work permit must confirm the knowledge of the Russian language, Russian history and the basic foundations of legislation of the Russian Federation.
