The citizens of Belarus do not need to take the exam on the Russian language, the history and basics of Russian legislation
In order to obtain a temporary residence permit and a permanent residence permit for citizens of Belarus in the near future, they will not need to certify knowledge of the Russian language, history and the legislation of the Russian Federation. A draft bill has been submitted to the Duma for consideration.
The explanatory note to the bill states that citizens of the Republic of Belarus are simultaneously both citizens of the state of Belarus and the Union of States of Russia and Belarus, and Russians and Belarusians have the same rights in both countries of employment, salary and other social and labor warranty. The point of this bill is to clarify the procedure for registration of a temporary residence permit and a permanent residence permit without having to confirm knowledge of Russian history and the foundations of the Russian legislation for the citizens of Belarus.
