Migration issues were transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (MVD) a year ago

It should be recalled that in 2016 the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on the establishment of the Main Directorate for Migration (GUVM MVD), as well as relevant units in all territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

In 2016, the Interior Ministry's GUVM provided more than 71 million government services in the field of migration.

Due to the fact that the main role in countering illegal migration belongs to the bodies of internal affairs, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has expanded cooperation with law enforcement agencies in multilateral international formats.

Operational and preventive measures and special operations on the issue of suppressioning illegal migration are being carried out.

Moreover, within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the "Illegal" event is being held.

Only in 2016, more than 140,000 violations of migration legislation were identified and 120,000 of them were violations of the procedures for entry, exit and stay. And also over 20 thousand violations of the established procedure for carrying out labor activity were suppressed. It identified 477 persons who were on the international wanted list. During the searches, 7 printing houses were found to produce forged documents, 200 forged documents, and holograms for the production of passports, forged stamps, and communication equipment.
