On stricter liability for violating the norms for registration of stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation

The draft law has been submitted to the State Duma, which provides for stricter liability for violation of the established procedure for processing documents on the right of stay (residence) of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation.

Part 3 of Article 18.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses establishes administrative liability for providing living accommodation or a vehicle or provision of other services to a foreign citizen or a stateless person who is in Russia having violated the order or rules of transit passage through its territory.

The bill for these actions proposed to establish an administrative fine in the following amounts:

• for citizens - from 2 000 to 5 000 rubles;
• for officials - from 35 000 to 50 000 rubles;
• for legal entities - from 400 000 to 500 000 rubles.
