On simplifying the process for obtaining citizenship for foreign specialists

Draft legislation has been introduced for public discussion; it reduces the required period of work based on professions that are in greater demand in the Russian Federation for the purposes of obtaining Russian citizenship in a simplified procedure.
In the event this draft legislation is adopted, the period provided for in paragraph «и» of Art. 14 of the Federal Law dated May 31, 2002, No. 62-FZ "On the Citizenship of the Russian Federation", will be reduced from three years to one year.
