Regarding the Czech Republic's suspension of issuing visas and residence permits to Russian citizens
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in February of this year suspended the issuance of visas and residence permits to Russian citizens. The Czech Government has decided to extend the following measure until the end of March 2023.
According to the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs the decision was made in order to protect the foreign policy interests of the Czech Republic in connection with Russia's military actions in Ukraine and to put pressure on Russia and Belarus.
At the same time, there is an exception for entry into the country for the following category of citizens:
• Citizens arriving in the country for humanitarian purposes;
• Citizens with a residence permit of the Czech Republic;
• Citizens with short-term visas who have relatives among Czech citizens;
Citizens whose stay in the country "meets the interests of the Czech Republic".
