The rules for obtaining the Russian visa changed
24.02.2015
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR)foreign citizens are required to indicate the route of the intended visit to obtain Russian visa. These requirements are reflected in the new questionnaire for foreign citizens approved by the Federal Migration Service and apply to the entire range of applicants, regardless of category, type and duration of the visa.
In the questionnaire the foreign citizen is to specify all centers of population aimed for the visit. Also, the information on the address of the migration registration as well as the information on the inviting and receiving parties is to be reflected in the questionnaire.
ATOR experts, in turn, raise concerns that the introduction of these requirements may in negative way affect the number of foreign citizens entering as tourists. The reason is the travelers planning an abroad trip do not always have exact route or are apt to change it depending on the circumstances.
